Google and Verizon have been in talks since last year concerning the issue of net neutrality, and just a bit ago, they released a joint statement on their conclusions. There has been much back and forth on who should be allowed to regulate the Internet (the federal government, Internet providers, both, or neither), and today both Google and Verizon have agreed that the Internet should be regulated by the federal government, and your Internet providers should impose fewer restrictions on what you have access to. Their statement is sizable and contains a lot of information, but I’ll break it down for you in smaller, easier to digest bites after the jump.

I had the pleasure of reviewing the Monster Beats by Dre headphones back in 2008 and was excited when Monster recently sent me a pair of Beats Solo HD ($200) over-ear headphones to check out. We’ve proven to ourselves that the Wii Fit can help you shed pounds, but according to the American Heart Association, the gaming console can be good for your health in more ways than one. Both the American Heart Association and Nintendo announced their partnership today in NYC, which will bring about a new AHA-branded Wii console box, and an endorsement for Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, and Wii Sports Resort (coming bundled with the new black Wii), which enhance the active play initiative founded by the Heart Association.

According to the AHA, the Wii console promotes movement and activity among kids and adults alike – 60 minutes of activity a day is recommended – which makes this partnership kind of a no-brainer. Exercise and gaming? Everyone can get in on that, right? You’ll begin seeing the AHA label on the console’s box, and new products focusing on health will likely be released in the near future.

Dr. Dre has already teamed up with HP to bring us the sweet-sounding HP Envy 15 bundle (which comes complete with his Geek-tested and approved Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, and HP Beats Audio software), but now he’s lending his face to the campaign for a series of commercials that highlight what HP computers can do.

Known for being advocates of great sound quality, Monster announced their newest headphones at CES, including a new set of Beats By Dr. Dre PRODUCT (RED) headphones endorsed by my favorite celeb in attendance at CES, Lady Gaga, and a partnership with designer Vivienne Tam, who is no stranger to the tech scene – I’m still in love with her latest HP netbook.

New products to expect this year include unbreakable Jamz ($119) and Lil’ Jamz headphones ($99), designed to produce high quality sound at an affordable price point. On the other end of the cost spectrum, a super high end Turbine Pro Copper set, retailing for $400 (I told you, super high end!). And for the dedicated jazz listener, a pair of Miles Davis Tribute headphones, designed to optimize the sound of jazz music. At $500, the tribute headphones are sold with two CDs, a vinyl LP, a DVD, hardcover book, and black and white poster of the jazz legend. And of course, the Lady Gaga-endorsed PRODUCT(RED) headphones, retailing for $230, expected to hit stores in February (red Lady Gaga headphones for Valentine’s Day? Are you listening? Yes please!).
